Every Day Is A Gift

I am not a religious person, in a sense that I go to church every Sunday, but when I do go or talk to God, there are only 2 words that are in the core of what I talk to Him about. And those words are THANK YOU.
I thank Him for everything that I already have. And everything that I can have. I rarely ask Him for anything more because I believe life is abundant.
I have recently come to realize that a lot of the things I asked from God, I already have. I just failed to see it because I have always looked outside when it is all inside me.
I used to ask God for wisdom, peace of mind, happiness, and all these spiritual bliss, as if it is someting external. And I could never understand why no matter how many times I prayed for it, they never seem to come and when they do, they don't last.
Then, as I went through the transformation of death to rebirth(a personal story I wrote about in another article), I came to understand that those things I have been seeking in my life are already here inside me. I just needed to open my heart and mind in order to see the beautiful things that are within, instead of looking for it outside.
It is absurd that most of us, when lost in the ocean of life, will make unnecessary journeys to find something that is here with us all along. Open your heart, wake up your mind. There, you will see God. Purity, Peace, Joy, Wisdom.
He is everywhere. He never left you. You just failed to see Him. But now, with an open heart and mind, come look again...and you will understand why I titled this Every Day Is A Gift.

I have read almost all your hubs and can feel your strong spirit about life, you see i always tell folks this...
"Expect the unexpected because if you open your heart and stay alert, you must someday fall but not beyond repair and if you ever take a little purse instead of rushing, you will sniff out the blessing of God encased in the folds of your life"
