Dealing With The States Of Mood And Loneliness

We all feel a sense of emptiness now and then. It just happens, one day or one minute it just hits us. As if someone with a remote control pushed a button and it alters the way we view and experience life at that particular moment.

We convince ourselves that we are okay. But somehow, we feel this dark mysterious empty space inside us. Deluding us into thinking that things are not so alright. And we sit in a room collecting all the valid reasons in our head to justify this delusion; My job is stressful and boring. My savings is depleted. I will never be able to save. The people at work will always be rude and ruin my day. My friends hardly keep in touch with me nowadays, they will probably never check on me. My partner does not care about me anymore. My parents never understand me. I am a loner. I am a nobody. I am broke. I am bored. I hate my job. I hate my life. I will be miserable forever. I will never be happy.

Such destructive thoughts cloud our mind when experiencing a low mood. All the good things in our life are suddenly thrown out the window. We forget that just as there are low moods, there are also high moods. Where our self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-respect are at a higher level.

It is during this state that we find life so exciting. We work on our dreams, focus on our visions, propel forward towards accomplishing our goals. We strive. We make things done and have fun along the way.

A low mood is just like a high mood; they both come and go. What you choose to do and think during those two state of moods makes all the difference in how you feel.

Remember, the keyword is CHOOSE. You have no absolute control of the level of your moods, but you have absolute control of what you choose to do and think about it.
